One of the best indian restaurants in Queensland so happy they are finally moving to Palmer street to become one of the legacy restaurants of Townsville. Will always keep coming back!

Don't be put off by the shopfront appearance of this restaurant. It appears quite small but they also provide an outdoor area for dining. We had the Samosas ( really good), Lamb Madras, Prawns Jalfrezi, steamed rice & Garlic Roti. Everything was really tasty & very enjoyable. Lovely friendly waitress & really great value for money. Well worth another visit.

A wonderful little restaurant with delicious Indian flavours! This restaurant has a good selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes and the service is fast and friendly! A must visit in Townsville if you’re craving Indian food.

Had a fantastic dinner with my partner. Super friendly and quick service, plus absolutely delicious food. Great vegan/ vego options as well. My partner had butter chicken and said that it was the best he's ever had. Will be back soon 🙂

Alishan restaurant is an unassuming little restaurant you could easily overlook just walking by. But that would be a mistake. We live locally so we eat here often. The food is excellent. The service is excellent. One gets the sense that this is a family owned and run restaurant and that the family works hard at trying to provide delicious meals and a great dining experience. And they are most successful. There’s the aircon’d front of house section with a handful of tables and a very pleasant back garden environment. Food is suitably attuned to the Australian palate so will please everyone. Even those with a more sophisticated palate will find the food authentic. It’s a winner.

What you see inside the window is not the whole picture. Thee is another entrance the runs down the side to the back, so do not be disappointed if the front is full, just head down the side of the building, The food is good , the service good and the price is right but unless things have changed they do not have a liquor licence, However there is a liquor store across the road . All in all a pleasant place to eat

I love this place, as traditional a curry as you can get and reasonably priced. I tried the Raana chicken last night and it was fabulous. Would definitely recommend for the curry fans out there

Great food sometimes comes from unexpected places. This place isn't much to look at but the food is good and that's what really matters. One of only a few places I've found so far that truly do spicy.

WOW... Best curry I have had yet in Australia! Lots of vegan options and clearly labelled menu. Very reasonably priced and definitely wil go a again.

From the moment you walk in you realise it is a family run business and whilst we sat outside it just felt very quaint. It is BYO and this suited us as a 2 couples ( one white bottle wine , one red ), The food was just amazing - Palak Paneer, Lamb Madras, Prawns Jafrezi, Garlic Naan, Yoghurt - all prepared beautifully and tasted awesome - would highly recommend.

Superb food, the staff are all very friendly, short waiting time. The atmosphere is very cosy, it doesn't feel like I'm in a restaurant, it feels like I'm at someone's home having a nice meal in. My friends, family and I have gone there frequently

We ordered the chicken tiki massala, saffron rice and garlic naan and two mango lassis. We easily shared the meal between two people and enjoyed the homemade food. The chicken was perfectly cooked still very moist. The mango lassi was a bit tart but still very enjoyable. Fantastic service - we were served within 5 minutes by the friendly staff. This family restarting is a hidden gem on Gregory street would recommend.

The hunt for Indian food brought us to this little establishment. Do not be deterred by the front as the back offers alfresco dining. Was incredibly clean and went to heated. It was like having dinner in somebody’s back garden. Place was full of locals which showed how popular it was. We ordered Amritsari Machi to start with alongside Tarka Daal chicken Bhuna. Also had butter Naan and tandoori roti. Daal here is probably the best I have have eaten anywhere ever..it was delicious freshly cooked with fresh curry leaves and the flavours were to die for. The butter chicken was succulent soft and very delicately balanced. Kudos to the chef and the staff. I’m just amazed how you guys have managed to bring about this little wonder. Well done and keep it up.

Outdoor sitting area is very cozy abd food has great flavour. Their individual curries have nice flavour, generous portion and even their lunch deal is awesome. If you are in town, wanna have Indian? This place is the one!

I enjoy Aalishan because the flavours in their dishes are given room to express themselves and are beautifully balanced

Delicious authentic home cooked food. We have dined here countless times and the food is always spot on. They are so friendly and have heaps of vegan options. Fast service. I literally can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. The Dahl fried vegan is my absolute fav and their pampadums with tamarind sauce are so good!! Nice airy terrace behind restaurant. Service was pleasant. Very varied selection. Chicken dahnsak was so tender and the Lamb hydrabadi was the most tender lamb we had had in a long time. Compliments to the chef.

Staff were very attentive and friendly. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Great range of vegan options and staff were happy to help with questions. Would recommend

Amazing vegetarian food! What it lacks in decor it makes up for with the food. When we arrived I wasn't sure because there was nobody dining in the front of the restaurant. Then our waitress asked if we would like to sit inside, or out in the back section. There was a few tables of people out back and I felt much more comfortable. Don't judge a book by it's cover, you won't be disappointe

Best Indian most authentic in Townsville BY far and friendly service. Reasonable prices. Good servings of meat. And variable levels of spice. I always love going here. Not fancy so do not expect 5 star atmosphere or setting

Visiting from Melb & have been to northern India. This is the real deal right here in Townsville. A wonderful meal with complex spices. Fast, efficient & friendly service & bonus alfresco backyard eating area which is very casual & atmospheric. We'll be back to try the fish curry. Thank you

I really enjoy coming here. The food is always great and the staff are very friendly. The prices are reasonable and the seating out the back is good. It's also BYO so feel free to bring a few drinks to enjoy with your meal.

Brilliant food... make sure you try the chicken tikka masala!! I used to live in Melbourne & have now relocated to Townsville... the food options in Melbourne are amazing, however, this is the best indian take away that I've ever tasted!! Absolutely brilliant!! Job well done!!! 😊

Delicious tasty food and good size naan portions! There is an additional dining area around the back which although nothing fancy is nice if you would prefer to be outside but not on the street.
